It appears that the material is designed to expand and contract with a large temperature range to give the "soft touch" feel under a large set of conditions. The foam and adhesive is soft tucked into a retaining strip with a minor amount and pressure. The upper edge is only held on by about a 1/4" of soft foam with minor amount of adhesive. The problem with the panel is that the "soft touch" materials float on a hard PVC/HDPE panel. The dealership acted like it was a common occurrence and new it would be back ordered before they even ordered the part. ![]() The panel had to be surrendered to warranty. ![]() I was prepared to keep the old panel but wasn't allowed under warranty. It is definitely heat related considering my let loose after a 105 degree day. I had about 3800 miles on it in late August and the passenger front door at the top let loose over a 12" section. It had sit on a lot in Tennessee for two years.
